What's up with the Hawks? I mean come on. Your down 2 games to 1 going in to the fourth game of the playoff series and you need a win. The leaders on this team need to step it up. You don't see Kobe or Lebron do absolutely nothing in big playoff games like these. Why are guys like Toews and Hossa not putting the puck in the net? We need big games from big players and right now that ju
st isn't happening. Goaltending is a very important part in the postseason. And with soft goals you know your team is going to lose.
A seemingly harmless backhand flick by Nashville Predators forward J.P. Dumont led to the softest goal in this postseason. It also put the seventh-seeded Preds on the way to a 4-1 victory over the second-seeded Chicago Blackhawks in Game 1 of the first-round series at the United Center on Friday. With Chicago leading 1-0 off a second-period goal by Patrick Kane, Dumont sent the the puck slowly toward the Blackhawks net from the a few feet inside the blue line a minute and half into to third period. Goalie Antti Niemi, playing in his first career postseason, backed into his net and a
llowed the puck to take an odd bounce off the ice and then off the far post. "I was just trying to backhand it toward the net," Dumont said. "I saw Joel Ward driving the net. I was hoping for a rebound or something, but lucky for us it bounced in. It was a lucky bounce, but we'll take it.".
The Hawks orginazation started when Frederic McLaughlin purchased the Portland Rosebuds moving them to Chicago to play in the NHL. The team, which became known as the Black Hawks. Their first game was against the Toronto St. Pats and they won with a score of 4 to 1. They finished 3rd in the league but lost in the playoffs to the Boston Bruins. The hawks need to step it up. Thats all I am saying.
